E-commerce Sites trying to End Summer 2015 on a High Note

It all began with Amazon India’s 3-day Great Indian Summer Sale in the first week of May, with some amazing discounts across various categories. As May progressed and the sweltering heat reached its zenith, a number of e-commerce websites followed suit, offering customers some breezy sales to cool off with.

Now, all set to end this ‘May’Fair on a cheerful note, here is what various other online stores are doing to distract customers from the weather and keep them buying.


Jabong is currently running the ‘Summertime Madness’ sale from 28 May, 2015 to 31 May, 2015. It is offering flat 50% off on tops, tees, shirts, dresses, ethnic kurtis, salwar suits, handbags, shoes, and all kinds of fashion accessories for women as well as men, from brands like Vero Moda, The Vanca, The Find, Harpa, Remanika, Dorothy Perkins, W, Sangria, Imara, Prafful, Admyrin, Raindrops etc. Jabong is also luring customers to buy in bulk by offering them extra 30% off on orders above Rs 999 from brands like UCB, Miss Bennet, Caprese and New Look.



Having closed down its website, Myntra is now putting all weight behind its mobile phone app by launching a new app sale whenever it finds the opportunity to do so. This time around, rather than jumping on the bandwagon of  summer sales, Myntra has decided to entice fashionistas into buying with a very creative idea- the ‘APPreciate Yourself Sale’. Highlighting the need for valuing your individuality, this sale will be from 30 May, 2015 to 31 May, 2015, promising to deluge customers with a downpour of steep discounts on over 2 lakh styles from more than 1000 brands. Some of its offers are flat 50% off on apparels from Mango, minimum 50% off on Puma and 40% to 60% off on shoes from Nike. The sale is also being promoted on its parent website Flipkart.



As competition in the e-commerce arena intensifies, even travel websites are trying to keep the public traveling by coming up with some or the other sale, big or small. For summer, Goibibo launched the ‘Mega Summer Sale’ which will last till 1 June, 2015. The offer in this case is up to 50% discount or maximum 100% cashback on a wide selection of domestic hotel bookings. The upfront discounts and the cashback options are displayed against the respective hotels in the deals section. And on its sale page, you will find the list of valid coupons applicable on desktop, mobile phones and both. Also, you can use these promo codes three times under the same mail id or mobile no. So, get going if you are planning a trip soon.



Surprisingly, Snapdeal has not launched a site wide sale this time around. However, it has still managed to create two category-specific sales around summer and May. Under its Beat The Heat sale, Snapdeal has assembled all its discounted air-conditioners, air-coolers, fans, refrigerators and inverters, everything that you desperately feel the need for during summers. Here, you will find ACs neatly segregated in to window and split with 6% to 38% discount. You will also get up to 37% off on coolers, up to 17% off on fans, up to 47% off on inverters and up to 21% off on refrigerators- single door, double door and side-by-side. On the other hand, Snapdeal is also cashing in on the last days of summer by luring users in to gaming indoors, while it is still too hot to be out of doors. Under its ‘May’hem while the Sun Shines Outside page, Snapdeal is offering minimum 40% off on gaming consoles and accessories.

Like Snapdeal, eBay India, too has chosen to stay away from a site wide sale. But it is still hosting the ‘50 Days of Summer’ sale on apparels for men and women. Under this sale, eBay India is offering up to 75% off on a wide range of trendy t-shirts from 15 April, 2015 to 3 June, 2015.
